Elsa Antunes is a Senior Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering in the College of Science & Engineering, James Cook University. She obtained her PhD degree in Engineering from James Cook University in 2018. Since 2018, Dr. Antunes has attracted more than >$2M in competitive research funding as a Chief Investigator. Dr. Antunes received the 2023 Women in Industry award for Excellence in Engineering. Dr. Antunes research is focused on the field of Materials Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing, developing new materials and fabrication techniques for biomedical implants, aerospace and catalysis applications.
